Docks for Vancouver Island.

Coastal waterfronts, tidal moorage, and industrial marine work from Victoria to Port Hardy. Residential, commercial, and aquaculture projects across the island.

Vancouver Island is a growing part of Cascade's work — a mix of residential oceanfront, inland lake projects, commercial and marina expansion, and an increasing base of aquaculture and industrial marine work. The island's conditions range from salt-exposed coastal sites to quiet freshwater lakes like Cowichan, Sproat, and Kennedy, and the projects reflect that variety.

Coastal conditions, real logistics.

Island freshwater lakes

The island's inland lakes — Cowichan, Sproat, Kennedy, Nitinat, and the smaller lakes — behave more like interior freshwater sites than coastal ones. Seasonal level changes, occasional ice, and straightforward anchoring. Common residential, strata, and resort projects.

Tidal swing and salt

Island projects handle tide ranges that can exceed four metres in some locations, plus continuous salt exposure. System specification and hardware selection matter more here than on freshwater projects — we use galvanized hardware, seawall attachments, and stiff-arm anchoring where appropriate.

Exposure and wake

Many island sites face open-water exposure or high-traffic marine wake. Larger platforms, floating breakwaters, and reinforced anchoring are common on commercial and industrial work.

Ferry and barge logistics

Most island projects involve ferry transport for components, and remote coastal sites often require barge delivery. Logistics planning is built into the quote — not billed as an add-on after the fact.
